“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
How it all started:
Farhan and Faez- the team brothers has taken the name FSQUARED photography together to a great level of success . At the start of their career, farhan was doing photography as a part-time job aside from what he was doing at that moment of time. He used to assist other photographers on shoots but later on he realised that he don’t learn as much because there they do not usually want to end up having to pay for assistants unless their client requests for it. So one day he started shooting on his own, he signed up for online courses that are conducted by world famous photographers and learn from there. Over the span of 3 to 5 years, he slowly honed his skills from shoot to shoot challenging himself and getting better at it. Recently, he just got back from working overseas, and he had the plan to start the Wedding Photography business in Singapore. He thought it is the perfect time because his younger brother Faez is doing Business Studies in Temasek Polytechnic, so he could not only handle the business side of things but also applying the knowledge that gain from school to a real world scenarios.
His experience about the journey:
Farhan said, haha! yes it is a lot of stress when you are only given one chance to capture the important moments. If you missed it, you missed it. When asking about his incident he answered"Incidents? Hmm maybe when my flash trigger did not work on the pre wedding shoot and the client wanted a sunset shot, we were losing the Sunset very fast. I had to come up with other creative ways to light them and thank god it worked! In Singapore, the sunset don’t last very long so we have to work very fast and effectively to get quality images."
Weddings in Singapore:
It is very special to shoot in Singapore for our local clients because, they sometimes would like to take photos at places that they used to go frequently when they were dating or a place where first saw each other or where they go “steady”. However, for our international clients they love the MBS. They would just fly in just to taken their photos taken with the MBS back drop. Farhan completed.
On asking about his one of the weirdest question ever he has come across during his events "Do you cater food for us?”, this was for a Pre-Wedding shoot for a client flying in from their home country. So that was the weirdest so far. Farhan stated.
Favourite wedding photograph:
Farhan added "Well!! this is tough, ever shoot I go I will have a favourite shot but as soon as I go to another shoot I will have a better one. But I have to say one photo would be special to me, taken in Singapore by the way. This is of a couple who is celebrating their 20th Anniversary, the husband wanted to celebrate it by having a photoshoot in her actual wedding dress from Vera Wang and then a trip around the world with his wife. To me this was a very sweet gesture from the husband."
